DAVID CAMPBELL, DISTRICT ONE
My name is David C. Campbell, plain and simple. I am 52 years old. I was born in Andalusia, AL. I was raised on our family farm and I am a 5th generation farmer. I am married to Kathy Campbell and have been for a over 30 years. We have three children, one daughter-in-law, and two son-in-law and 9 grandchildren. I was raised by my parents Clayton and Lottie Campbell and I have two sisters Pam Seales and Lisa Williams. God has blessed me with a wonderful family.
I have attended Sweet Home Baptist Church in McKenzie, AL for over thirty years. God has blessed me with many good opportunities and I feel being raised on our family farm was one of them. My wife and I are raising our grandchildren on our family farm and I pray that we can make a big difference in their lives.
I attended McKenzie High School and after graduation I continued to work on our family farm as well as work with my Dad in his construction business. Upon completion of the poultry houses I was able to come home and run our family farm full time. Last year (2016) I decided to step out and run for county Commissioner for Conecuh County District 1. I have met so many people and have been blessed by each person that I have met.
I have enjoyed my life very much. I have no regrets, although I have made some mistakes in my life I just think I have gained some valuable experiences through my mistakes.

RAY DEWBERRY, DISTRICT THREE
Born in Monroeville in August of 1952, District 3 Commissioner James "Ray" Dewberry moved to Pensacola, Fla. as a child with his parents. He graduated from Woodham High School in Pensacola in 1970 and attended Pensacola Junior College for Business Administration. Dewberry then worked for nine years as the City Circulation Manager of the Pensacola News Journal.
After leaving the News Journal, he started and ran a successful construction business for over 40 years. Dewberry and his family moved back to Conecuh County in 1995, where he continued operating his masonry business and also farmed, retiring from construction at the end of 2020. He served as president of the Conecuh County Cattlemen's Association for two years and he and his wife, Carol, are members of Range Freewill Baptist Church.
"I look forward to working with the people and hope to bring to new industry to Conecuh County," Dewbery said.
WENDELL BYRD, DISTRICT FOUR
Commissioner Wendell Byrd was District 4 County commissioner for 16 years. He retired as County Commissioner in 2012 and was re-elected on November 2016. He was born on July 12, 1941 and raised in Conecuh County in the Owassa Community. He married the late Eva Kyser Byrd and has three children (two sons, one daughter and one granddaughter). Even though he only has three children, he is father to many young and old. He attended school at Lincoln, China Jr. High, and Conecuh County Training school where he received his High School diploma in 1961.
He worked for Boan Contracting Company traveling from state to state (Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi) as a Heavy Equipment operator for 20 years. Tired of traveling and missing time from his family, he returned home and started working for LP (Louisiana Pacific) as a Heavy equipment operator. He worked for LP for 18 years.
He enjoys meeting, mentoring, advising, and helping others. He currently serves as member of the Conecuh County Training School Alumni Committee, Reid State Technical College Foundation, Conecuh County Farmers Market steering Committee, and Reid State Technical College Advisory Council. He will continue to be an advocate and a voice for the citizen of Conecuh County, as well as, help move the county forward by supporting economic growth.
LEONARD "PUNCH" MILLENDER, DISTRICT FIVE
Commissioner Millender was elected into office November 12, 1989 for District 5 of Conecuh County. Born June 22, 1953 in Brewton, he grew up in Conecuh County. A 1971 graduate of Evergreen High School he went onto Alabama A&M and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Commissioner MillendeR currently serves on the Alabama Tombigbee Regional Comm. Board, Community Action Agency, and Justice & Public Safety Policy Team.
He hopes to continue working with other officials in maintaining our efforts to encourage economic growth, support agri-business and local industry to ensure that good jobs are available now, and for our children.
